Phillips Seafood Fried Green Tomatoes


  • Green tomato, sliced 1/2 inch thick
  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Butter, for cooking
  • Brown Sugar


  1. Season flour with salt and pepper.
  2. Coat both sides of tomato with seasoned flour. Fry one side in butter until well browned.
  3. Place in oven safe pan, browned side down, and sprinkle with brown sugar.
  4. Place in broiler until brown sugar begins to bubble.
  5. Serve immediately.
