Rosie O'Shea's Soda Bread
Yield: 1 "Cake" as it's called in Ireland
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 16 ounces buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon table salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Mix the brown flour, all-purpose flour, buttermilk, salt, baking soda and butter. Knead lightly- form into a round cake. Cut cross with a knife.
- Bake on a floured, greased baking sheet at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes or when you knock on the top of the
cake and it makes a hollow sound.
