San-Dar Dutch Apple Dessert

Yield: 8 to 10 servings

Ingredients

Dessert

  • 8 apples
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup whipping cream

Topping

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup pecan halves

Instructions

Dessert

  1. Wash, pare and slice apples in mixing bowl. Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour and whipping cream. Mix well and pour into 2 (10 inch) round baking dishes, Cover with topping.

Topping

  1. Combine brown sugar, butter and flour. Mix to the consistency of pie dough. Sprinkle over mixture in pan and garnish with pecan halves.
  2. Bake in preheated 375 degrees F oven for 10 minutes then reduce heat to 350 degrees F and bake for 40 minutes, until apples are tender.
