San-Dar Dutch Apple Dessert

Ingredients

Dessert

  • 8 apples
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup whipping cream

Topping

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup pecan halves


Instructions

  1. Dessert: Wash, pare and slice apples in mixing bowl. Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour and whipping cream. Mix well and pour into two 10-inch round baking dishes, Cover with topping.
  2. Topping: Combine brown sugar, butter and flour. Mix to the consistency of pie dough. Sprinkle over mixture in pan and garnish with pecan halves.
  3. Bake in preheated 375 degrees F oven for ten minutes then reduce heat to 350 degrees F and bake for 40 minutes, until apples are tender.

Serves 8 to 10.
