Dolly Parton's Corn Pone



  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons bacon grease
  • About 1 cup milk (enough to make stiff batter)


  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Form pones by hand and put on greased baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes at 425 degrees F.

Makes about 1 1/2 dozen, depending on size.
