Coffee Cake
Ingredients
Cake
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 pint sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a Bundt pan.
- Cream margarine and sugar. Add vanilla extract. Cream. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg is added. Stir in flour mixture and sour cream alternately - a small amount at a time - always begin with flour mixture and end with flour.
- Put half of the mixture into prepared Bundt pan. Add 3/4 cup of the topping on top of the batter. Pour remaining batter gently over the topping and the first layer of batter. Cover with the remaining 1/4 cup of topping.
- Bake, testing after 40 minutes.
