1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup flaked coconut
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
3/4 cup chopped candied cherries
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
Cream butter and sugar.
Blend in milk and vanilla extract.
Stir in flour, cherries, and nuts.
Form into two rolls, each 2 inches in diameter and 8 inches long.
Roll in coconut.
Wrap and chill several hours or overnight.
Slice into 1/4-inch slices.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 12 minutes or until edges are golden.
Yield: 5 dozen
