Apple Bliss Bars

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
  • 2 1/2 cups chopped apples
  • 1/2 cup sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Topping

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Crust: Mix together flour, sugar and butter until crumbly and press into an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Sprinkle chopped apples over crust.
  3. Sprinkle sugar-cinnamon mixture over apples.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and pour topping over apples.
  6. Return to oven and bake about 20 minutes more.
  7. Topping: Mix all together and pour over partially-baked apples and crust.
