Chocolate-Cherry Magic Cookie Bars

  • 28 sandwich cookies, finely crushed
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups white or semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, well drained and halved
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped


  1. Line a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil. Heat oven to 350 degrees F (325 degrees F for glass baking dish).
  2. Mix crushed cookies and butter or margarine; press onto bottom of prepared baking pan.
  3. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crust.
  4. Layer chocolate chips, cherries, coconut and nuts over crust; press down firmly.
  5. Bake at for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden and set.
  6. Cool completely.
  7. Remove foil before cutting into bars.

Yield: 24 bars
