Chocolate Peanut Butter Gooey Bars

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs

Topping

  • 1 cup pecans, chopped (or peanuts)
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  2. In large bowl cream butter with sugars; add eggs and mix well.
  3. Add dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Spread in prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 8 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle with pecans, then drizzle sweetened condensed milk evenly over coconut.
  7. Return to oven for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to cooing rack.
  8. In saucepan melt chocolate chips and peanut butter, stirring until smooth. Spread over warm bars.
  9. Cool before cutting.

Yield: 2 to 3 dozen
