Dairy Land Bars

Ingredients

Bars

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups quick oatmeal

Filling

  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Frosting

  • 2/3 cup chocolate bits
  • 1/3 cup filling
  • 3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Bars: Beat butter, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla extract until blended.
  2. Add flour, baking soda and salt.
  3. Add oatmeal.
  4. Spread in ungreased 15 x 10-inch jellyroll pan.
  5. Filling: Beat sweetened condensed milk with cream cheese and vanilla extract until smooth. Reserve one-third cup.
  6. Spread rest over crust.
  7. Scatter nuts on top.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes.
  9. Frosting: Heat chocolate bits and 1/3 cup filling. Add milk to mixture until thin enough to pour.
  10. Drizzle on top when bars come out of oven.
  11. Cut into bars.
  12. Keep refrigerated.
