Hazelnut Oatmeal Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup finely chopped hazelnuts, divided

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter and sugar.
  2. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  3. Mix in flour, baking soda and salt.
  4. Add oats and 2/3 cup hazelnuts.
  5. Spread mixture evenly in greased 9-inch square baking pan.
  6. Sprinkle with remaining hazelnuts.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes or until top is just set when lightly touched.
  8. Let cool.
  9. Cut into 24 bars.
