Hershey's Chocolate Chip Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter or margarine
  • 2 cups (12 ounce package) Hershey's semi- sweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In medium bowl, stir together flour and brown sugar; cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  3. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips; press mixture on bottom of ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  4. Bake 15 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, in large bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, egg and vanilla extract.
  6. Stir in remaining 1 1/2 cups chips and nuts.
  7. Spread evenly over baked crust.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
  10. Cut into bars.

Yield: about 36 bars
