Planters Holiday Chocolate Nut Squares

Instructions

  1. Beat 1/2 cup butter or margarine and 1/4 cup of the sugar until creamy.
  2. Blend in flour.
  3. Press on bottom of an ungreased 9-inch square baking pan.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F for 18 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  5. Heat 1/2 cup of the sugar, 1/4 cup butter or margarine and heavy cream in saucepan, stirring until spread melts and mixture is blended.
  6. Stir in pecans; set aside.
  7. Sprinkle coconut and chocolate over crust.
  8. Top with pecan mixture.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes more or until golden.
  10. Cool; cut into squares.
