Sassy Strawberry Jam Slices



  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup strawberry preserves


  1. Heat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Blend in egg yolks.
  4. Add flour and nuts; mix well.
  5. Spread half of dough onto bottom of greased 9-inch square baking pan; top with preserves, then with remaining dough mixture.
  6. Bake for 1 hour or until lightly browned.
  7. Cool; cut into squares.

Yield: 18 servings
