Toffee 'n' Fudge Bars

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
  3. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
  4. Add flour, cocoa, baking powder, soda and salt to butter mixture. Blend at low speed until dough forms, about 1 minute (dough will be stiff).
  5. Stir in half of crushed toffee bars and nuts.
  6. Pat dough into ungreased 9-inch square pan.
  7. Sprinkle with remaining toffee bars.
  8. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until center is set.
  9. Cool completely.
  10. Cut into bars.

Yield: 25 bars
