Black and White Brownies
Yield: 3 dozen
Ingredients
Brownie
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 beaten eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 square chocolate, melted
Topping
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 square chocolate, melted
- Dash of salt
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
Brownie
- Cream together shortening and sugar.
- Add eggs, flour, salt and vanilla extract. Divide mixture in half.
- Add one square of chocolate to half of batter.
- Spread chocolate mix in 13 x 9 inch pan. Cover with vanilla mixture.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes.
Topping
- Combine sugar, 1 square chocolate, salt and milk. Let stand for 5 minutes.
- Beat for 30 to 45 seconds. Pour over cooled brownies.
