Frangelico Nut Brownies



  • 3 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 6 tablespoons Frangelico liqueur, divided
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • Dash of salt
  • 2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup chopped nuts of choice
  • Frosting
  • 3 tablespoons softened butter
  • 4 tablespoons Frangelico
  • 3 cups confectioners' sugar


  1. Melt unsweetened chocolate with butter in microwave and mix well. Cool.
  2. Beat sugar and eggs together in mixing bowl.
  3. Add 3 tablespoons Frangelico and cooled chocolate mixture. Mix well.
  4. Stir in flour, salt, chocolate chips and nuts.
  5. Pour into greased and floured 8-inch square baking pan.
  6. Bake at 325 degrees F for approximately 20 minutes (test with wooden pick).
  7. Cool completely (about 1 1/2 hours).
  8. Pierce brownies with a wooden pick randomly. Drizzle remaining 3 tablespoons Frangelico liqueur over brownies, then frost.
  9. Frosting: In mixing bowl, combine liqueur and butter. Mix well.
  10. Gradually add confectioners' sugar and beat until spreading consistency.
  11. Frost cooled brownies.
