Pecan Pie Brownies

Ingredients

Filling

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped pecans

Brownie

  • Family size deluxe fudge brownie mix
  • 1/2 cup very hot water
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13 x 9 inch pan.

Filling

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter, stir in flour until smooth.
  2. Add brown sugar and 2 eggs. Mix well. Cook over medium-low heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and pecans. Set aside.

Brownie

  1. In a large bowl, combine brownie ingredients and beat with a spoon.
  2. Spread in prepared pan.
  3. Spoon filling over top.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes. Do not over-bake.
  5. Cool and cut into bars.
