Walnut Raspberry Brownies

Ingredients

  • 3 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped
  • 1/3 cup raspberry jam

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease well an 8 inch square baking pan.
  2. Melt chocolate and Crisco over warm water; cool slightly.
  3. Blend together eggs, vanilla extract, sugar and salt; stir in chocolate mixture, then flour.
  4. Fold in walnuts.
  5. Turn into prepared baking pan.
  6. Bake for about 40 minutes.
  7. Spoon jam over hot brownies; spread carefully. Let cool.
  8. Top with a chocolate glaze.
