Big Four Cookies
The big four are protein, iron, calcium, vitamin A.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 1 cup sifted
flour
- 1/4 cup non-fat dry milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup
grated raw carrots
- 1 1/4 cups rolled oats
- 1/4 cup raisins
Instructions
- Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Cream together shortening, sugar, molasses and egg.
- Sift dry ingredients together; stir into creamed mixture.
- Add grated carrot,
rolled oats and raisins; mix well.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonsful onto lightly greased
cookie sheets.
- Bake for 10 minutes, until golden brown.
Makes 6 dozen cookies.
