Cherry Malted Cookies




  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Sift flour, malted milk powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  3. Blend shortening and brown sugar, creaming well.
  4. Add egg, maraschino cherry juice and vanilla extract and beat well.
  5. Blend in dry ingredients gradually, mixing thoroughly.
  6. Add maraschino cherries.
  7. Drop by rounded teaspoonsful onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
