Tomato Soup Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 4 1/2 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Microwave butter in your mixing bowl to melt it.
  3. Add sugar and let it cool a bit.
  4. Mix in beaten eggs.
  5. Add tomato soup and mix well.
  6. Stir in cinnamon, nutmeg and baking soda.
  7. Add salt. Stir well.
  8. Add raisins and walnuts.
  9. Add flour one cup at time until well blended
  10.  Let the dough chill for a few minutes in the refrigerator.
  11. Drop dough by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets.
  12. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.

Yields 10 dozen cookies.
