Rum Slices
Ingredients
- 4 egg whites
- 1 pound confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 pound pecans, ground
- 1/2 pound walnuts, ground
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or rum
- Rum
Instructions
- Beat egg whites until stiff. Add sugar and nuts. Flavor with vanilla extract or rum. Form into 3/4-inch diameter rolls.
- Chill for 45 minutes.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a cookie sheet.
- Cut into 1/2 inch slices.
- Bake on prepared cookie sheet for about 15 minutes.
- While still warm, ice with confectioners' sugar moistened with enough rum to spread.
