Ingredients

  • 1 envelope yeast
  • 1/3 cup warm water
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • Granulated sugar
  • Colored sugar

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand.
  2. Mix butter and flour. Add yeast. Blend well; put in refrigerator to cool.
  3. Sprinkle sugar on wax paper. Take small amount of dough and pat with fingers, then pat in sugar to coat both sides; pat thin. Place on cookie sheet. Colored sugar may be sprinkled on to add some color. These burn easily, so watch carefully during baking.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F for 7 to 10 minutes.
