Gugulina Cookies




  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Sift the flour and baking powder together.
  3. In a saucepan melt the butter with the sugar; set aside.
  4. Add the eggs, almond and anise extracts to the butter and sugar mixture, beating with a hand mixer or whisk.
  5. Make a well in the center of the flour and pour the liquid ingredients into the well. Using your hands mix until smooth.
  6. In a small bowl beat eggs and milk together to make egg wash.
  7. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, dip into egg wash then into sesame seeds. Roll again into log shape.
  8. Bake for about 9 minutes.

Serves 48 (2 cookies each, or about 8 dozen cookies total).
