Molasses Butterball Cookies



  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar


  1. Heat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. In a bowl beat butter and molasses with an electric mixer on medium speed until fluffy. Add flour and beat until well blended. Stir in finely chopped walnuts. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 20 minutes.
  4. Remove to a wire rack and cool.
  5. Roll in confectioners' sugar.

Makes 24 cookies.
