Pound Cake Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks (1 cup) butter (no substitute)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cream butter and sugar.
  3. Add egg yolks.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and flour.
  5. Roll into balls and place on cookie sheet. Flatten with a fork to about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
  6. Bake until edges are brown, about 10 minutes.

Notes

The recipe is easy to double for more cookies.
