Strawberry Thumbprint Cookies

Strawberry Thumbprint Cookies are an elegant treat. Use these for desserts, snacks and parties. Make additional variations by using other types of marmalades.

Strawberry Thumbprint Cookies

Prep: 30 min | Bake: 16 min | Yield: 5 dozen cookies

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1 (14 ounce) can Nestlé La Lechera Fat Free Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 3/4 cup strawberry marmalade

Instructions

  1. Beat butter and sweetened condensed milk in large mixer bowl until creamy.
  2. Add egg yolks; beat until smooth.
  3. Gradually beat in flour.
  4. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Heat oven to 325 degrees F.
  6. Shape dough into 1 inch balls; roll in chopped nuts.
  7. Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Make indentation in center of each cookie with thumb.
  9. Fill each indentation with about 1/4 teaspoon marmalade.
  10. Bake for 15 to 16 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  11. Let stand for 1 minute; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
