Cheddar Shortbread
Yield: about 16 bars
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 cups whole wheat or white flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Heat oven to 375 to 400 degrees F. Grease a cookie sheet.
- In large bowl, cream butter, cheese, flour, salt and cayenne. Turn out onto floured surface; knead lightly to blend well. Pat out into a large square and cut into bars.
- Bake on prepared cookie sheet for 20 minutes or until golden.
- Serve hot or cold.
