Pat-in-the-Pan Shortbread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Cream butter.
  3. Mix or sift together the dry ingredients.
  4. Blend dry ingredients into the butter.
  5. Pat the stiff dough into an ungreased 9 inch square pan and press edges down.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
  7. Cut into squares while warm.
