Maxine's Cowboy Steak

Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds round steak
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 3/4 cup vinegar
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan. Slice the steak into 1 inch squares and brown.
  3. Place the steak in a 2 quart casserole dish.
  4. Put remaining ingredients into the frying pan. Simmer for 3 minutes.
  5. Pour over steak.
  6. Cover for 1 hour.
  7. Uncover and bake another 30 minutes.
  8. Serve over hot rice or noodles.
