Slow Cooker Recipes
Gingered Shortribs
Yield: 6 to 8 servings
Ingredients
- 4 pounds beef short ribs
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1 cup dry red wine
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 6 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown short ribs in hot oil in skillet or in slow cooker if it has a browning unit. Place sliced onions at bottom of slow cooker. Place ribs on top. Mix all other ingredients in a bowl and pour over ribs.
- Cover pot; set at LOW and cook for 6 to 8 hours or until meat is tender.
- Add salt and pepper during last hour. If there is excessive sauce, turn pot to HIGH and cook, uncovered, for an additional 30 minutes.
