Slow Cooker Recipes
Sweet and Sour Beef
Yield: 6 to 8 servings
Ingredients
- Cooking oil
- 1 (3 to 4 pound) chuck or blade roast
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Heat a thin film of oil in a sauté pan; brown meat for 3 to 4 minutes per side.
- Transfer to slow cooker.
- In a bowl whisk together onion, mushroom soup, water, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard and Worcestershire; pour over meat.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 12 to16 hours.
- Serve with stuffing or mashed potatoes.
