- 8 apples, peeled, cored, coarsely chopped
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 quarts beer or ale
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- Combine all ingredients in slow cooker. Cover; cook on LOW 2 to 3 hours.
- Remove apples; mash or sieve. Return to beer mixture.
- Serve very hot.
Yield: 8 servings
