Rustic Garlic Mashed Potatoes



  • 2 pounds baking potatoes with peel, 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter, 1/8-inch pieces
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup milk


  1. Place all ingredients, except milk, in slow cooker; toss to combine.
  2. Cover and cook on LOW 7 hours or on HIGH 4 hours.
  3. Add milk to slow cooker.
  4. Mash potatoes with potato masher or electric mixer until smooth.

Yield: 5 servings
