Cream Puff Bars

Ingredients

Pastry

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 eggs

Filling

  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 (3.9 ounce) boxes instant vanilla pudding
  • Cool Whip
  • Chocolate syrup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Pastry: Boil water with margarine; add flour; remove from stove. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  2. Add eggs, 1 at a time.
  3. Spread on baking sheet.
  4. Bake at 400 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool.
  5. Filling: Combine ingredients and, using electric mixer, beat on high 1 minute, then on low 4 minutes.
  6. Spread on cooled crust.
  7. Cover with Cool Whip.
  8. Drizzle syrup on top.
