Cherry Ice Cream


  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 cups milk
  • 1 pint whipping cream
  • 3 teaspoons almond extract
  • 16 ounces maraschino cherries, drained (juice reserved) and chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Enough cherry juice to color


  1. Mix all ingredient together and put into a 4-quart freezer.
  2. Freeze according to manufacturer's instructions.
