Honey-Poppy Seed Filling

  • 1 cup ground poppy seeds
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon allspice


  1. Bring poppy seeds and milk to a slow boil and simmer for about 5 minutes. Stir constantly until thick.
  2. Add sugar and honey and cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. Add allspice last.

Makes enough for 3 dozen kolaches.
