Upside Down Chocolate Pudding
Ingredients
Pudding
- 1 square unsweetened chocolate
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 to 2/3 cup coarsely chopped nuts
Sauce
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 cup cold water
Instructions
Pudding
- Melt chocolate and butter, set aside.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk and vanilla extract, and then chocolate mixture. Beat until smooth. Stir in nuts.
- Pour the batter into an 8 inch square baking dish.
- Sauce: Mix white and brown sugar and cocoa together. Sprinkle evenly over the top of the pudding batter. Pour the water evenly over all.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 to 50 minutes.
- Serve warm.
