Golden Marshmallow Sauce


  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Add the boiling water to the sugar in a heavy saucepan and cook until a little less than very soft ball stage is reached (220 degrees F).
  2. Pour in the marshmallows and beat with a hand held mixer, over low heat, until smooth.
  3. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Makes enough for 4 sundaes.
