Pear Sauce


Serve over berries, gingerbread or spice cake.


  • 2 medium pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup water


  1. Combine first 3 ingredients in blender container; process until smooth.
  2. Combine pear mixture, sugar, cornstarch and water in a medium-size saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat, and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
  3. Remove from heat; cool.

Yields 2 2/3 cups.
