Spice Cake Sauce
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/4 cups boiling water
- 1 large
- 1 ounce brandy, Bourbon or Scotch (optional)
- Mix sugar and flour together in pan. Add a little cold water and stir until mixed.
- Put lump of butter into boiling water and slowly add to the first mixture. Cook,
stirring constantly, until thick.
- Remove from heat and add alcohol if desired.
immediately over squares of spice cake.
