Marzipan Eggs

Yield: 2 pounds

Ingredients

  • 1 pound blanched almonds, finely ground
  • 1 pound confectioners' sugar
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons orange extract
  • Food coloring

Instructions

  1. Combine ground almonds, confectioners' sugar and orange extract in a saucepan. Cook until mixture leaves side of pan.
  2. Remove from hot pan; cool slightly.
  3. Roll mixture into small egg shapes.
  4. Paint with food coloring.
  5. Place on wax paper to dry for 2 hours.
