These doughnuts from New Orleans contain no eggs.


  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk


  1. Mix dry ingredients.
  2. Add milk all at once.
  3. Knead gently and roll out on floured surface until 1/4 inch thick, cut into small squares or triangles.
  4. Fry in hot oil, turning to cook both sides.
