L.A. Cornbread

This sweet, cake-like corn bread is served at family restaurants in Los Angeles. I'm not one for regular cornbread. I need my cornbread enhanced with sweetness, and this fits the bill perfectly!

L.A. Sweet Cornbread


  • 1 box Jiffy yellow cake mix
  • 1 box Jiffy cornbread mix


  1. Mix cake and cornbread batters separately according to package directions.
  2. Blend together and turn into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes, or until cornbread springs back when lightly touched.
