Burnt Round Steak



  • 1 large round steak, cut into 1/2-inch wide strips
  • 1/4 cup Karo syrup
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup Burgundy wine
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  1. Mix all ingredients in a glass bowl and marinate meat for at least 1 hour.
  2. Put meat on campfire forks or on grill and cook over glowing coals until done as desired.
