Boxed Rice-A-Roni

Making Rice-A-Roni in an Instant Pot with the sauté function is a great way to have it in less time!

Boxed Rice-A-Roni recipe

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 (6.9 or 6.8 ounce box Rice-A-Roni (chicken or beef)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Add butter to the inner pot of an Instant Pot. Use the sauté function to melt the butter.
  2. Add the dry Rice-A-Roni to the butter and sauté until it starts to turn light golden-brown.
  3. Turn off the Sauté function.
  4. Add water and seasoning mix, stirring to combine.
  5. Close the lid and set the vent to the sealed position. Select a 5 minute cook time at high pressure using the Manual/Pressure Cook button.
  6. Once the cook time is complete, perform a QPR (quick pressure release).
  7. After the pressure has released and the valve has dropped, carefully remove the lid. Fluff or stir the rice, then serve.

Notes

Never open the lid until the valve has dropped!
