Tamale Balls
Ingredients
Meatballs
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
- 3/4 cup tomato juice
- 1/4 cup flour
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
Sauce
- 3 (#2) cans tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
Instructions
- Meatballs: Grind beef and pork together twice.
- Add remaining ingredients and form into small balls - about 150.
- Drop into sauce and simmer for 2 hours.
- Sauce: Heat ingredients together in large roaster. Let sauce come to a boil
and drop in balls. Simmer.
- To serve, keep hot in chafing dish and pick up with wooden picks.
