Fruit of the Vine Stroganoff


  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup dry red wine
  • 1/2 to 1 cup water
  • 1 1 /2 cups sour cream


  1. Brown ground beef and onions.
  2. Sauté mushrooms in butter. Add to ground beef and onion. Add wine and water. Simmer for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add sour cream just before serving (do not boil).
  4. Serve over cooked noodles.
