Melt in Your Mouth Chicken



  • 1 (3 pound) chicken, boiled until tender
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups chicken broth or water in which chicken was cooked
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) melted margarine
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper


  1. Cube chicken and place in greased casserole dish.
  2. Combine the cream of chicken soup and the chicken broth and pour over chicken.
  3. Combine margarine, buttermilk, flour, salt and pepper and pour over above to make crust.
  4. Bake at 425 degrees F for 30 minutes.
